What is Friends of the PTO? 

Friends of the PTO is a group of supporters of Edgar Road School. Through a contribution to the PTO, Friends of the PTO help keep PTO events free and asks of families down. 

Why was the Friends of the PTO created? 

We’re trying something different. To support the Edgar Road School with all of the initiatives you’ve come to know and love, we rely on the support of families, friends and area businesses. Realizing we frequently ask for help, we’re trying to streamline the times we ask you to send something to school or bring something to an event. Our hope is that through the generosity of you and others like you early in the year, we’ll be able to support our events for the entire year! 

How do I become a Friend of the PTO? 

Just make a gift to the PTO today! Go here to give online or contribute via Venmo: EdgarRoadSchool-PTO (Don’t forget to include your name as you’d like it to appear on listing in the comments section.) 

As a thank you, we’ll send you a magnet highlighting all of the upcoming events and list your name among all the other families supporting. 

What does my gift to the Friends of the PTO support? 

The PTO uses raised funds raised to keep Edgar Road School amazing! Edgar Road has over 400 students and the PTO takes pride in a very full calendar of student and family events, enrichment activities, school improvements and teacher support. 

When we reach $5,000 in support, we’ve funded all of our student and family events for the entire year! That means, we’re all set for Craft Night, Movie Night, Trunk-or-Treat, Shamrock Hunk, Field Day, Tasty Treats for the Teachers’ Lounge, Teacher Conference Meals and Best Buddies. 

What do I get for my donation? 

You make a contribution to the PTO and become a “Friend of the PTO.” As a thank you, we’ll send you a magnet highlighting all of the upcoming events and list your name among all the other families supporting.

Will I keep getting asked to support the PTO? 

Yes and no. We hope through the support of the Friends of the PTO, we find enough support to fund all of our student and family events for the entire year and don’t have to ask you to donate supplies and materials. Craft Night, Movie Night, Trunk-or-Treat, Shamrock Hunk, Field Day, Tasty Treats for the Teachers’ Lounge, Teacher Conference Meals and Best Buddies … all taken care of. 

Of course, we’ll still fundraise for additional PTO initiatives. We’ll continue to encourage your support during Fun Run and Trivia Night & Silent Auction which support additional initiatives important to the school. We’ll need your help as a volunteer throughout the year, if you’re able. Your student’s teacher and room parent might also need your support.

Who can be a part of the Friends of the PTO? 

Anyone! Families of students, grandparents, neighbors … we’ll take your support! 

Why is support of the PTO important? 

School district funding only covers so much and there are so many needs at Edgar Road. Your support of the PTO helps us all go above and beyond for staff and students! 

My company or a company I know would like to support Edgar Road School and the PTO. How can my business offer support?
