FUN RUN Q&A

 

Why do we have the Fun Run? This is one of our major PTO fundraisers for Edgar Road for the year.  Our goal is to raise $16,000 so that we can purchase items for the school to benefit our students and staff. If students can try to raise $40 each for this important effort, we will meet our goal! 

 

What is the Fun Run?  From now until October 31st, we raise money for our school. Students ask donors to sponsor their run during our Fun Run event, which helps the PTO fund items for the school. This year we are raising money for a new sound system in the gym, expanding the music room's instrument collection, upgrading the original 1950's water fountains, creating classroom Zen Dens, and more! 

 

On Friday, October 11th, during the school day, students will participate in the Fun Run Event during their grade's designated time (see below.) We ask students to register online so their donations can be tracked and they can earn fun prizes for the entire school! 

 

*The class competition will end on Sunday, October 13th at MIDNIGHT. We will continue to collect money for the overall Fun Run competition through October 31st.*

 

Does my child have to fundraise to participate? No! Everyone is welcome at the Fun Run! Every student will participate in the outdoor fun on October 11th and receive a t-shirt!

 

How can my child help?  Click Here to register your child(ren)Share your child(ren)'s fundraising page on social media. Ask family and friends to donate (once you register!) YOU MUST UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION ON THE PTO WEBSITE FOR DONATIONS TO BE COUNTED CORRECTLY. The PTO is no longer provided with teacher information from the district, so you MUST manually assign your child to their teacher in Account Settings for donations to count in the class competition. If you have done that already this year, please ignore.

 

What should my child wear to the Fun Run? Your child will receive a t-shirt the day of the race.  Please wear comfortable sneakers and appropriate clothing for physical activities during the outdoor fun run event (weather permitting).  

 

Can I volunteer on the day of the Fun Run? YES! We have some really fun opportunities for parents to actively participate IN the course! Sign up HERE! Parents are also welcome to attend and watch their child(ren) run on the day of the event. 

 

Do I need to RSVP to watch the Fun Run? Yes! ALL Fun Run Guests, Volunteers, and Observers MUST RSVP BEFORE Noon on October 10th HERE. On the day of the event, all guests, volunteers, and observers MUST check in at the front office before participating or observing in the events of the day. PLEASE allow yourself enough time. 

 

Can I pay directly to the PTO with Cash or Check?

Yes! You can! Please submit all Cash or Check donations directly to the ERS Front Office. Check and cash donations will count toward the all-school goal but not individual student goals.
